Easy and simple onesies to make at home!

Onesies are such a staple piece in any babies wardrobe. Not only are they adorable but they are oh so practical as well. The best part is you can customise your baby onesies right in the comfort of your own home. In this simple and easy tutorial, I'll walk you through how to make a custom onesies. Let's get started.

What you'll need: An SVG File Heat transfer vinyl in the colour of your choice A cutting machine for your SVG file (Like a cricut or silhouette) Scissors A weeding tool A plain baby onesie An iron or a heat press

Instructions: Once you've bought an SVG file or downloaded one from the internet, you will first need to put it into your software. I have a silhouette machine and they are so great and user friendly, I highly recommend.

After adjusting it to your measurements, it's time to cut. Load the vinyl onto the cutting mat and away you go. Remember, with heat transfer vinyl the shiny side faces down on the cutting mat. Here you can be creative with your colours or maybe even try some glitter. Part of the fun is in the creative process. Once the cutting machine and finished cutting the design, it's now time to weed. You want to take your time here as this is an important step. You want to make sure you're getting all the pieces. If you're happy with it, it's time for the fun part! Once you've ironed or heat pressed your plain onesie, you can pop the design on. Take some time to measure the onesie and make sure the design is centered. If you're happy with how it looks, you can heat press the design onto the onesie. A heat press is best here as it gives even and professional results, however an iron does the job just fine. Press for the recommended time and temperature. All heat transfer vinyl brands are different so make sure you are reading the instructions. Once pressed, remove the transfer sheet. You want to go over it a few times once the transfer sheet is removed, making sure it is as stuck down as possible. Now it's time to enjoy your new custom onesie. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. It really is so simple and fun to design your own onesies. I find once you start, the possibilities really are endless.

Happy crafting :)
